A Thrift Store with Purpose, Giving Second Life to Great Items and Giving Back to the Community
Amherst Chamber of Commerce President & CEO A.J. Baynes will join Tanya Conrad, owner and operator of Remix Market, for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Buffalo's newest mission-driven thrift store at 3212 Union Road in Cheektowaga at 4pm, Thursday November 20.
This eco-conscious thrift store diverts gently used furniture, décor, and household goods from landfills — sourced directly from local jobs by sister company The Junkluggers of Buffalo. Items are cleaned, repaired, and sold at affordable prices.
“Remix Market is about so much more than giving great items a second life,” said Tanya Conrad. “It’s about strengthening our community, championing local causes, and taking real steps to reduce waste right here in Buffalo.”
Proceeds benefit Kevin Guest House, the nation’s first healthcare hospitality house, providing a comforting home-away-from-home for patients and families during medical travel.
The concept for Remix Market and its sister company, The Junkluggers of Buffalo, was born from adversity turned into opportunity. Tanya and her husband, Eric Conrad (owner of The Junkluggers), were both displaced from their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rather than stepping back, they leaned in — creating a sustainable business model that blends environmental stewardship with meaningful philanthropy.
